THE GRIEF TRAIN

All aboard  !

the grief train is sounding its horn

You need a ticket of loss to ride

this outta towner, no destination

stopping all stations

grief locomotive

Screams in the early morn

suffice for its sounding horn

this grief train picks up

where emotions wait

like some holiday excited

baggage carrying

lost souls

pervading the depths of despair

All aboard !

no time for goodbyes !

there is never enough time

for goodbyes

when you are awaiting the journey

of a lifetime

with no fixed time to return

nothing is fixed

everything that ever was

is no longer

I am a photographer

I am on assignment

my camera of words

snaps up a kaleidoscope of landscapes

to take back home

maybe I could have a viewing

to share what I have learned on this grief train

or maybe not

All aboard

take your seats !

tickets please !

tis time to depart

kiss all you have ever known

goodbye !

fare thee well

I will see you on the other side

I will call you to collect me from

the station

please don't be late for welcoming me home
